As we reflect back on this Thailand trip,
We see your presence each and every day through it.
You carried us through when we needed you the most,
Lets start with Agape's family, our HuayPa host.
We felt very lonely because every meal they had us eat alone,
we didn't understand this kind of hospitality being shown.
Never letting us lend a hand, they'd say "relax a little more",
laying out yet another mat for us to rest on the floor.
We prayed "Heavenly Father, please let us break through",
that night they let us wash the dishes-that's when we knew...
We knew you answered our prayer-'you showed up again' we'd learn to say,
We couldn't have gotten through if it had been any other way.
Like the time we didn't have protein in over a week,
We wanted chicken for dinner so once again YOU did we seek.
And what did show up you might ask that very same day?
But a chicken travelling on a truck from four hours away.
There were some days though we will always remember,
These are the the days that aren't easily forgotten ever!!
When spiders and rats infected our lives,
or when hundreds of caterpillars made us break out in hives.
Or all of the times we were stomach sick more often than well,
or no water to shower-never really getting used to our smell.
But Thailand changed us for the better, we definitely would like to think,
making us trust you for the simple things, learning how to be meek.
You say you will take care of us no matter what we do,
this trip has confirmed that to us through and through.
Thank you dear God for your lessons in this life's race,
You help us step by step, pace by pace.
As we move into this season of transition, we ask only two things from you:
Clarity of vision and clean mirrors for Your reflection to shine through.
Thank you for all the thoughts an prayers during this time we are in Thailand. We fly out tomorrow night, and will be arriving on Crete, Wednesday June 20th. Very veryyyy excited to be coming home :)
